The Nazko Lakes chain is a series of small shallow lakes that provide important habitat to species such as moose, deer, and large birds that rely on the abundant aquatic food supply. View the endangered pelicans, fish for trophy rainbows, or just soak in the scenery and wildlife as you paddle the chain of six lakes with easy portages.
Every trip begins with an introduction to safety procedures and canoe travel to ensure the outmost comfort during your trip. First class equipment and instruction ensure a safe voyage through wilderness lakes and meadows teeming with wildlife |
Dip your paddle in paradise with the Madleys - the only licensed Guide Outfitters operating in Nazko Lake Provincial Park. This unique protected area is centred on the Nazko china of lakes, home to trophy sized Rainbow Trout, Moose, Deer, Songbirds and Eagles. The Nazko Lakes are important habitat for the endangered American White Pelican, a rare and magnificent bird with a 10-foot wingspan, snowy white plumage, an enormous bill and yellow-orange pouch. There are no designated camping areas or roads in the park, so only Tzazati Mountain Outfitters can ensure you experience the abundant wildlife and exquisite ecosystems of the Nazko Lakes.

Each day starts with a gourmet energy giving breakfast. A nutritious lunch and relaxed evening meal are also prepared by your guides. We gladly cater to specialty diets. While your guides do the work, you have time to relax at sunset and take advantage of the twilight to photograph the wildlife or relax by the fire. If you didn’t get enough in the canoe, there is good fishing right from shore. Listen for the loons to serenade you during the evenings.
This trip has something for everyone and appeals to fishermen, photographers, and wildlife lovers as well as serious paddlers. Be sure to bring your camera. |
The adventure begins at Deerpelt Lake, a chance to test out your paddle and try a short portage. On Nazko Lake there is plenty of time to perfect your fly fishing techniques and view the active eagle's nests.
Tanikul Lake is the longest and perhaps most beautiful of the lakes on this chain. The rock cliffs bordering the lake provide a spectacular backdrop for fishing and photography. A short hike will take you to Tanikul Waterfalls, a great place to stretch your legs and cool off. Nastachi Lake, a shallow waterway with an abundance of water lilies and various aquatic plants, is a fantastic photographic opportunity as many mammals congregate there. |
